Studio Wildcard‘s much-anticipated game, “Ark: Survival Ascended,” is experiencing a series of delays in its Xbox Series X/S release, with the latest postponement pushing the launch to early next week. Originally scheduled for a November 14th release, the game has encountered unexpected challenges during the certification process, leading to these delays.

Certification Hurdles and Update Delays

The latest setback for “Ark: Survival Ascended” on Xbox is attributed to unforeseen issues that surfaced during the certification process with Microsoft. Studio Wildcard has been actively working with Microsoft to address these issues and resubmit the build as quickly as possible. Despite their efforts, a precise update on the release was still pending at the end of last week.

PS5 Version Still on Schedule

In contrast, the PlayStation 5 version of “Ark: Survival Ascended” remains on track for its scheduled end-of-November release. Studio Wildcard is directly collaborating with its partners and Sony to ensure this timeline is met, promising to provide a more precise launch window as they make further progress.

“Ark: Survival Ascended,” available on PC via Steam Early Access, represents a standalone release initially planned as a free upgrade to “Ark: Survival Evolved.” Developed on Unreal Engine 5.2, it boasts stunning visuals, enhanced physics, and quality-of-life features. However, it’s noted that the technical performance of the game requires further improvement.

Aside from the current focus on “Ark: Survival Ascended,” Studio Wildcard has its sights set on the future, with a sequel titled “Ark 2” in development. This upcoming game, featuring Vin Diesel, has been rescheduled for a release closer to the end of 2024, indicative of the evolving timeline for the franchise’s expansion.

The gaming community, eagerly awaiting the release of “Ark: Survival Ascended,” has faced disappointment with these consecutive delays. Studio Wildcard has expressed apologies for the postponements, emphasizing their dedication to resolving the issues and delivering the game to Xbox users as soon as possible. As gamers await further updates, the anticipation for both the Xbox and PS5 versions of “Ark: Survival Ascended” continues to build.
