Emphasis on Side Content and Exploration

Square Enix has emphasized the importance of side content in “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth,” accounting for about 80 percent of exploration-based gameplay. Toriyama assures that this isn’t just filler content but well-developed, varied experiences that add a unique flavor to the game. Director Naoki Hamaguchi draws inspiration from “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” using it as a baseline for the game’s expansive world and satisfying content.

The game is set to offer over 100 hours of gameplay for completionists, with a 40-hour-long main story. The side quests are designed not just to extend playtime but to deepen the understanding of the game’s world and characters. The Affinity System has been expanded, allowing players to explore relationships and storylines through side quests, giving them the freedom to balance between the main story and additional content.

A Rich and Expansive World

“Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” is launching on February 29th, 2024, for PS5, and is poised to set a new standard in role-playing games. The game promises a blend of a compelling main story and substantial side content, including totally new cities like Crow’s Nest. The diverse forms of gameplay, from strategic card games to dynamic Chocobo racing, coupled with an expanded world to explore, are set to make “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” an unforgettable experience for both new and returning fans of the franchise.
