Locus Robotics has a strong track record with its autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), having facilitated over four billion picks to date. The introduction of Locus Array builds on this foundation by incorporating additional functionalities such as double-deep storage and zero-touch fulfillment. This development marks a significant upgrade over earlier systems, offering more comprehensive automation solutions for diverse industries including healthcare, retail, and e-commerce.

How Does Locus Array Enhance Warehouse Efficiency?

“Our zero-touch fulfillment automates induction, and double-deep storage covers 100% of SKUs,” said Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics.

The Locus Array system leverages AMRs combined with vision-guided picking arms, enabling precise retrieval and storage in high-density environments. This integration allows for efficient handling of orders, reducing the time and labor required for manual processes.

What Technologies Power Locus Array?

Locus Array utilizes autonomous mobile robots with omnidirectional wheels, similar to those acquired from Waypoint Robotics. These AMRs navigate tight spaces and perform complex maneuvers to retrieve items from shelving units. Additionally, the system employs custom-developed, vision-guided picking arms equipped with suction cup end effectors, which operate in narrow aisles to maximize storage capacity.

When Will Locus Array Be Available?

According to Locus Robotics, Locus Array will be available for ordering later this year, with shipments commencing in early 2026. This timeline allows companies to plan for integration and scaling, ensuring a smooth transition to automated fulfillment processes.

The integration of Locus Array with existing LocusOne AI sequences demonstrates the company’s commitment to enhancing automation across all stages of the fulfillment process. By reducing cost per pick and offering scalable deployments, Locus Robotics aims to provide a fast return on investment for its clients, addressing critical issues such as throughput and labor shortages effectively.

Locus Array’s launch represents a substantial advancement in warehouse automation, offering a robust solution that builds upon the company’s extensive experience in autonomous mobility and AI-driven optimization. Businesses looking to enhance their logistics operations will find Locus Array a valuable addition to their automation toolkit, promising improved efficiency and scalability.
