Samsung has launched a novel application named ‘Samsung Find,’ which is integrated into the One UI 6.1 update, primarily featured on the Galaxy S24 series. This application is designed to assist users in locating their Samsung Galaxy devices as well as items attached to Galaxy SmartTags, effectively replacing the SmartThings Find functionality previously found within the SmartThings application.
Global Availability and Compatibility
Targeting Galaxy users worldwide, ‘Samsung Find’ aims to streamline the process of monitoring various personal items and devices. The application, however, is not available in China. ‘Samsung Find’ comes pre-installed on the Galaxy S24 series, while other Samsung devices eligible for the One UI 6.1 update can acquire the app through the Galaxy Store.
User-Friendly Interface and Features
The interface of ‘Samsung Find’ is organized into three distinct tabs: People, Devices, and Items. Each tab caters to a specific tracking function, enhancing the user experience. The People Tab enables users to share and view the locations of friends and family members. The Devices Tab is useful for pinpointing the whereabouts of various Galaxy devices owned by the user or their family members, including smartphones, tablets, watches, and earbuds. The Items Tab is dedicated to locating personal belongings tagged with Galaxy SmartTags, such as keys or wallets.
Despite its comprehensive tracking abilities, ‘Samsung Find’ currently lacks a feature that notifies users when they leave important items behind, a functionality still present in the SmartThings app. Samsung has announced that this feature will be incorporated into ‘Samsung Find’ through a subsequent update.
