Samsung has officially declared that its advanced Galaxy AI capabilities will not be extended to Galaxy smartphones manufactured prior to 2023. This exclusion spans across various models, including the Galaxy S22 series and the recent Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4, which will not benefit from these new AI enhancements. Contrarily, only a select number of devices are slated to receive these updates.
Exclusive AI Features for Select Models
The innovative Galaxy AI features are set to accompany the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S23 lineup, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, the Galaxy Tab S9 range, and the Galaxy S23 FE. At present, only nine devices have been confirmed to be equipped with the AI features, although the One UI 6.1 will be available on a broader spectrum of models.
Enhanced Communication and Media Editing
The Galaxy AI suite boasts an array of functionalities designed to streamline communication, such as the Live Translate feature that facilitates real-time language translation during conversations. Additionally, the Chat Assist feature allows for immediate translation within messaging applications, while another tool enables users to succinctly summarize lengthy articles.
For photography enthusiasts, the Generative Edit feature promises to enhance image quality and fill in missing photo elements. Furthermore, the AI suite includes tools for quick photo adjustments and object removal, as well as improved low-light photography with the Nightography feature, ensuring clarity even with camera shake.
Beyond photography, the AI features extend to social media convenience and online searching. Users can effortlessly highlight objects of interest to instantly retrieve information, akin to having a personal AI assistant.
