As the tech community moves on from CES, all eyes are now on the upcoming Computex 2024. I’m excited to share that AMD’s CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, has the honor of delivering the opening keynote at the Taipei World Trade Centre in Taiwan. It’s a significant moment for her, and I’m particularly eager to hear her insights, as it marks her first time inaugurating the event.
Shifting Focus to AI’s Role in Technology
The shift in attention is tangible from last year’s Nvidia spectacle to AMD’s burgeoning foray into AI. With AI and AI PCs as the focal point, I anticipate Dr. Su’s talk to be a riveting dive into the strides AMD is making in this cutting-edge field.
Unveiling the Roadmap for Future Technologies
The announcement of her address came with the revelation of six pivotal themes at Computex this year: AI computing, advanced connectivity, future mobility, immersive reality, sustainability, and innovations. Although these topics are diverse, I sense AI will continue to be the central theme, echoing the patterns we observed at CES 2024.
Dr. Su is poised to present AMD’s latest offerings, illustrating how they’ll revolutionize AI capabilities across various platforms. This peek into the next generation of AMD technologies is bound to captivate both the cloud and edge computing sectors.
Additionally, keynotes from other tech giants like Qualcomm, Intel, and MediaTek are on the agenda, though details remain under wraps. Given last year’s Computex had no major AMD announcements, anticipation runs high for potential surprises, especially related to AI advancements and cloud computing.
Finally, with Computex promising an even greater scale this year, I am committed to monitoring the build-up to the event. As the expo prepares to showcase 1,500 exhibitors and 4,500 booths, the stage is set for a plethora of launches and live demonstrations that promise a thrilling experience for tech aficionados like myself.
