The update introduces multiple EU-specific features, such as allowing app developers to distribute their apps through alternative marketplaces, subject to Apple’s standards for user experience and security. Notarization of iOS apps will be implemented as a mandatory review process for all apps to ensure platform integrity and user protection. Additionally, EU users will have the freedom to select a new default browser from a list of the most downloaded browsers post-update, access NFC for third-party banking and payment services, and request additional hardware and software capabilities from Apple.
