Apple enthusiasts are abuzz with the latest leaks regarding the Apple Watch X, expected to mark the tenth anniversary of the Apple Watch series. According to detailed CAD renders, the upcoming model could sport a 2-inch display. This new screen size would surpass the Apple Watch Series 9’s 1.7-inch display and the Apple Watch Ultra’s 1.93-inch screen, making it the largest Apple Watch display yet. Speculation about the watch’s launch coincides with the anticipated release of the iPhone 16 series in the fall. More details can be found on the 91Mobiles website.

Design and Dimensions

Despite its larger display, the Apple Watch X is rumored to have dimensions that place it between the Series 9 and Ultra models, at approximately 46 x 39.7 x 11.6mm. It retains the familiar Digital Crown and side button, maintaining a connection with previous Apple Watch designs. Earlier rumors suggested a new magnetic band connection system for the Apple Watch X, but the leaked CAD renders do not show any evidence of this feature. There is also no indication of significant hardware upgrades inside the watch from the leaked designs.

Expected Launch and Features

The Apple Watch X is expected to be launched alongside the iPhone 16 series during Apple’s annual fall event. Reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicate that Apple plans a major overhaul for the Apple Watch X to celebrate its tenth anniversary, either in 2024 or possibly 2025. The first Apple Watch, announced in September 2014, was publicly released in 2015. This historical timeline adds significance to the anticipated launch event.

Further Speculations and Rumors

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that the Apple Watch X will come in larger screen sizes, 45mm and 49mm, up from the current 41mm and 45mm sizes. The design is expected to be slimmer, potentially resembling the 49mm case of the Apple Watch Ultra. Although the accuracy of the CAD designs is yet to be confirmed, this publication has a reliable history with such leaks. Additionally, there are rumors that Apple might introduce blood pressure monitoring, sleep apnea detection, and hypertension monitoring in the Apple Watch X. An LTPO TFT screen could also be featured in the new model.

Information from earlier reports suggested Apple was working on several new health monitoring features for its upcoming models. Comparing this with recent leaks about the Apple Watch X, it’s clear that Apple aims to enhance its health-focused capabilities. Features like blood pressure and sleep apnea monitoring would significantly increase the utility of the device for health-conscious users. These ongoing speculations reflect Apple’s continuous efforts to innovate within the wearable tech space.

Historical perspectives on the Apple Watch series indicate a pattern of incremental improvements with each new model. However, the tenth anniversary signifies a potential for more substantial upgrades. Earlier models have seen advancements in processing power, battery life, and fitness tracking. The Apple Watch X, with its speculated larger screen and health monitoring technologies, suggests a more pronounced evolution in design and functionality compared to previous versions.

The Apple Watch X, potentially set to be the most advanced model yet, demonstrates Apple’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of wearable technology. The introduction of a larger display and new health features would appeal to both new and existing Apple Watch users. If the rumored features like blood pressure monitoring and sleep apnea detection come to fruition, this model could set a new standard for smartwatches. However, the absence of confirmed hardware upgrades in the leaked renders leaves room for speculation. As Apple gears up for the launch, fans and industry experts alike will be keen to see how these anticipated features translate into the final product.
