CaPow Technologies Ltd., headquartered in Beer Sheva, Israel, has successfully raised $15 million in Series A funding. This significant investment is set to accelerate the company’s expansion into global markets and enhance its Power-in-Motion charging systems for automated robots. As industries increasingly adopt automation, CaPow’s innovations address critical energy management needs, positioning the company for substantial growth.
CaPow has demonstrated steady progress since its founding in 2019, consistently advancing its wireless power technology. Previous developments focused on establishing a robust R&D foundation, enabling the company to refine its solutions for broader industrial applications.
Enhanced Operational Efficiency
The Power-in-Motion technology by CaPow allows automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to receive power while in motion, eliminating the need for frequent charging stops. This system integrates a lightweight Genesis receiver into the robotic platforms and strategically places double-shielded antennas to ensure continuous power supply. As a result, companies can achieve higher throughput and reduce reliance on bulky lithium-ion batteries.
Successful Industry Collaborations
In a recent demonstration, Hyundai Cradle reported a successful proof of concept at Hyundai Glovis facilities. AGVs equipped with CaPow’s technology maintained 100% uptime, a significant improvement over the standard operation where AGVs typically run for seven hours before requiring a one-hour charge.
“This funding accelerates our momentum to drive innovation around perpetual power in the robotics, manufacturing, and logistics industries at scale,”
stated Prof. Mor Peretz, CaPow’s CEO.
Plans for Global Expansion
Led by Toyota Ventures, the latest funding round included participation from Elements VC and returning investors such as IL Ventures and Payton Planar Magnetics. CaPow intends to utilize these funds to expand into new international markets, scale its research and development efforts, and increase production capabilities to meet growing demand. The company is also set to showcase its technology at ProMAT in Chicago, highlighting its commitment to leading the industrial automation sector.
By addressing the limitations of traditional battery-dependent systems, CaPow offers a solution that not only enhances efficiency but also reduces the total cost of ownership for robotic fleets. The company’s advancements are poised to make a significant impact on the industrial automation landscape, providing sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions.
CaPow’s innovative approach to wireless power delivery sets it apart in a competitive market, offering tangible benefits to industries reliant on automation. As the demand for efficient energy management grows, CaPow is well-positioned to lead the charge in transforming robotic operations worldwide.
