Check Point has been actively acquiring firms to enhance its security portfolio. Last year, the company acquired Perimeter 81 for $490 million and Atmosec to secure SaaS ecosystems. These acquisitions reflect an aggressive strategy to integrate advanced cybersecurity solutions amid rising cyber threat challenges. Combining Cyberint’s capabilities with its existing infrastructure, Check Point aims to offer more robust and comprehensive threat intelligence services to its enterprise customers.

Enhanced Threat Intelligence

Cyberint, known for its expertise in threat intelligence and attack surface management, will be integrated into Check Point’s SOC capabilities. This integration aims to enhance Check Point’s managed threat intelligence services. With a specialized team providing cybersecurity analysis and threat assessments, Cyberint is expected to significantly improve the effectiveness of Check Point’s security solutions. Check Point emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition in expanding its threat intelligence capabilities.

Investor Returns and Financial Aspects

Although the financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, estimates place the deal’s value at approximately $200 million. This amount signifies a substantial return for Cyberint’s investors, who had previously invested $65 million into the company. Investors include notable venture firms such as Viola Growth, StageOne Ventures, and Neva SGR. The acquisition underlines the significant potential and value recognized in Cyberint’s threat intelligence operations.

Check Point plans to finalize this acquisition by the end of 2024. The move is part of its broader strategy to enhance cybersecurity infrastructure and respond effectively to sophisticated cyber threats. The combined expertise of Check Point and Cyberint is expected to deliver significant advancements in threat intelligence and management services.

Integrating Cyberint into Check Point’s infrastructure is anticipated to enhance the latter’s security services significantly. The acquisition not only provides Check Point with advanced tools and expertise but also positions it more competitively in the cybersecurity market. As cyber threats continue to evolve, comprehensive threat intelligence becomes increasingly crucial, and Check Point’s strategic acquisitions reflect its commitment to leading in this domain. The addition of Cyberint’s capabilities is expected to offer more nuanced and effective cybersecurity solutions to enterprise customers, ensuring better protection against emerging threats.
