While MySims originally launched for PC in 2008 alongside its console releases, its availability had been limited primarily to consoles until the recent announcement. The re-establishment of MySims: Cozy Bundle on PC marks a significant return, offering desktop players access to both the original and the Kingdom variant. Previously, only specific editions were accessible on PC, making this broader release a welcomed development among enthusiasts.

What is included in the MySims: Cozy Bundle PC port?

The PC port of MySims: Cozy Bundle includes the original MySims game along with MySims Kingdom, which introduces a medieval theme to the gameplay. Players can expect new base game items, a refreshed townie home, and a new start screen for The Sims 4. This comprehensive bundle aims to enhance the user experience by providing additional content and customization options.

Why is EA re-releasing MySims on PC now?

“At its heart, it’s still very, very Sims,” stated Lyndsay Pearson, Sims series VP of franchise creative. “It’s the little characters that have a lot of really silly personalities, and you get to customise their world, meet their neighbours, make friends with them. And so I love that DNA of The Sims which comes through with such a different feel.”

Pearson further explained that the spin-off series “scratches a very different itch than I get out of The Sims 4 or 3 or any of our other bigger, traditional HD offerings on PC. So it’s fun to be able to sort of reintroduce a different flavour and give new audiences a chance.”

How does MySims differ from The Sims main series?

MySims distinguishes itself from The Sims main series through its unique character designs and lighter, more whimsical gameplay. The spin-off focuses on smaller, chibi-style characters with quirky personalities, providing a different gameplay experience focused on customization and community interactions. This variation allows players to explore a more charming and accessible side of the Sims universe.

The introduction of MySims: Cozy Bundle to PC platforms is a noteworthy expansion for EA’s franchise. By bringing this cherished spin-off back to desktops, EA not only revitalizes interest among existing fans but also invites new players to experience the whimsical world of MySims. The timing of the release could capitalize on the sustained popularity of The Sims series, reinforcing EA’s commitment to its diverse gaming portfolio.
