In previous collaborations, GCT and Globalstar focused primarily on single-mode connectivity solutions. The collaboration will leverage GCT’s IoT chip GDM7243i and its upcoming 4G LTE chip GDM7243SL, alongside a 5G IoT-enabled chipset, to support Globalstar’s satellite network. This integration allows for two-way satellite messaging systems, enabling devices to switch effortlessly between cellular and satellite networks based on availability and demand.

The new IoT modules will feature narrowband and low-power capabilities, making them ideal for applications such as trackers and satellite GPS devices.
