How Does the ReBeLMove Pro Fit Various Needs? How Simple Is Integration and What About Investment? What Innovations Support Compact Automation?

Automation continues to attract interest from businesses seeking more efficient operations, and accessible robotics solutions offer potential for organizations with or without technical backgrounds. igus GmbH has addressed these needs by launching the ReBeLMove Pro, a modular autonomous mobile robot (AMR) that integrates easily into existing workflows. The system’s flexibility and user-directed customization extend its appeal beyond large industrial operations to businesses of diverse sizes. With simple deployment and adaptability for different tasks, the ReBeLMove Pro aims to shift routine and repetitive responsibilities away from human staff, providing organizations with another route to cost-effective automation.

Analysis of earlier news revealed that igus has been evolving its portfolio with a focus on modular and customizable automation, previously emphasizing collaborations for integrations and niche robotics applications. ReBeLMove Pro extends this approach by offering more universal compatibility and simple setup, compared to earlier models and partner-focused launches. The simultaneous introduction of a new E1 energy chain underscores igus’s continued push toward compactness and operating efficiency, differentiating from older versions that primarily targeted large-scale industrial machinery. igus’s ongoing emphasis on sustainability and lean robotics is also more pronounced alongside its broader product strategy.

How Does the ReBeLMove Pro Fit Various Needs?

The ReBeLMove Pro’s four-wheeled platform accommodates multiple attachments, enabling it to manage a wide range of logistics, order picking, and assembly functions. It moves autonomously at speeds up to 2 meters per second, supports payloads of 250 kg, and can pull nearly 900 kg, allowing it to serve demanding material transport tasks. After creating a digital map of its environment in minutes, users can program routes without requiring advanced coding skills. Outdoors or indoors, the robot adapts through height-adjustable conveyors, collaborative robot arms, and modular shelving, helping firms optimize diverse workflows.

How Simple Is Integration and What About Investment?

igus designed the ReBeLMove Pro for rapid deployment, emphasizing open interfaces for smooth connection with existing IT and management systems. The robot uses lidar, 3D sensors, and a RealSense camera for navigation, and can be commissioned in roughly 15 minutes.

“We have therefore made a point of ensuring that the ReBeLMove Pro can be integrated and operated without outside help or automation experience,”

said Sebastian Thorwarth-Kienbaum, a low-cost automation expert at igus. According to the company, a typical return on investment can be reached in twelve months, with the base price set at €38,900, which is approximately 25% less than many comparable platforms.

What Innovations Support Compact Automation?

igus has also released a one-piece, injection-molded E1 series energy chain to improve cable management in confined machinery spaces. This product targets industries where traditional cable guides are unsuitable, offering enhanced protection against cable wear, twisting, and breakage. The single-piece construction and flexible tooth design promote ease of installation and cable longevity. The company is currently seeking partners and engineers to test and refine the E1 energy chain in a variety of compact applications.

igus maintains a presence in 35 countries and serves customers with a wide product catalog. Sustainability initiatives, such as recycling e-chains and shifting to domestic manufacturing in the U.S., reflect the company’s ongoing efforts to address environmental and logistical concerns.

“We’re committed to domestic manufacturing and innovation for shorter lead times, improved responsiveness to customer demands, and risk mitigation,”

stated Felix Brockmeyer, CEO of igus Inc., highlighting the company’s emphasis on cost efficiency and environmental responsibility.

By rolling out the ReBeLMove Pro alongside the E1 energy chain, igus reinforces its commitment to practical and accessible automation, while also investing in sustainability and operational simplicity. The new solutions build on previous igus platforms by prioritizing quick implementation, adaptation to both small-scale and larger facilities, and reduced ongoing integration costs. For organizations exploring automation but deterred by cost or complexity, systems like the ReBeLMove Pro are designed to lower the barrier to entry. The E1 energy chain targets longevity and less maintenance for compact equipment, showing igus’s intent to encompass both advanced robotics and everyday engineering requirements. Firms researching automation options will find clear specifications, straightforward commissioning, and multi-sector compatibility in these latest products, aiding in informed decision-making for their own production, logistics, or material handling settings.
