Jens Andersson, the design director, revealed that the game will include immersive sim features, providing players with multiple ways to achieve objectives. For example, players might encounter an enemy camp and have several strategies to penetrate the main building. Andersson mentioned,
“There are also more open areas, almost bordering immersive sim-style, like there’s an enemy camp, here you’re supposed to get into the main building, figure it out, and you can explore.”
Social Sim Elements
Additionally, the game incorporates social sim elements within these open areas. Players can don various disguises found throughout the locations to gain access to restricted areas. Andersson elaborated on this feature, stating,
“Every big location has a number of disguises for you to discover. That helps you pass as someone that belongs there, gives you access to areas you otherwise would have a really hard time getting through.”

Despite being developed by the creators of Wolfenstein, which is known for its first-person shooting mechanics, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will focus more on hand-to-hand combat. This choice aligns with the character of Indiana Jones, who is known more for his brawls and stealth than for gunfights. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is slated for launch on December 9 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, with a PlayStation 5 release expected in Spring 2025.
