Nexon, the developer and publisher of the free-to-play multiplayer game Warhaven, has revealed that the game’s operations will cease on April 5th. The company has halted the sale of in-game items effective immediately, as the option to charge WP (in-game currency) has been discontinued.
Warhaven’s Journey from Alpha to Early Access
The game has been in the development pipeline for an extended period and had its initial alpha test in 2021. Warhaven was launched on Steam as an Early Access game in September 2023, receiving continuous updates, including the addition of new items and events to enhance the gaming experience.
Gratitude Expressed for Player Support
The studio expressed its heartfelt thanks to the players whose support was instrumental in bringing Warhaven from its first alpha test to the global early access release. Appreciation was conveyed for the community’s enthusiasm and dedication to the game.
Warhaven featured an immersive medieval combat experience, with two teams of 16 players each battling it out. Players could choose from different game modes, such as the strategic Dominion or the combat-heavy Skirmish, and select from six distinct playable classes upon the game’s launch.
Currently, the game’s reception on Steam is mixed. Positive feedback focused on the game’s fundamental mechanics, while negative reviews often pointed to an imbalanced combat system. Some users also suggested that further development and refinement were necessary to fully realize the game’s potential.
