Anticipated Launch of Huawei’s New Foldable
Chinese reports suggest that Huawei is preparing to unveil a new foldable smartphone resembling a flip phone in February 2024. Insiders on Weibo have hinted that this device may debut separately from Huawei’s P70 series of flagship phones.
Price Strategy and Market Positioning
Previously in November 2022, Huawei released the Pocket S foldable smartphone, which was priced in the range of 5,000 to 6,000 yuan. It is expected that the upcoming foldable model will maintain a similar pricing strategy as Huawei aims to maintain its market presence, particularly in China.
Despite losing its top spot to Apple in shipment volumes in 2023, Samsung remains a global leader in the foldable smartphone segment. The launch of the Galaxy S24 series is projected to bolster Samsung’s market position this year.
