During the Unpacked January 2024 event, Samsung unveiled their Galaxy S24 series along with new artificial intelligence enhancements and user interface features. Subsequently, the company has specified which of its devices will be updated with these latest offerings.
Galaxy AI and One UI 6.1 Expansion
Samsung had previously indicated that their Galaxy AI features would be extended to a range of devices during the first half of the year. A recent communication with AndroidAuthority has now clarified which of the Galaxy line-up will be upgraded with these features incorporated into the One UI 6.1.
Eligible Devices for AI Experience
The sophisticated Galaxy AI capabilities introduced with Galaxy S24 will be made available to older models including the Galaxy S23 series, the S23 FE, the latest Z Fold and Flip models, as well as the Galaxy Tab S9 range. Although the Galaxy S22 and S21 series were not explicitly mentioned, they have not been ruled out from the update.
At the presentation, Samsung highlighted several prominent features of the One UI 6.1, such as Live Translate and Chat Assist. These are designed to enhance user interaction and convenience. Enhancements to Android Auto, transcription and note-taking functionalities, along with improved photography and video editing tools, were also showcased.
