Samsung’s latest Galaxy S24 series smartphones are now equipped with an evolved Quick Share application, which also incorporates elements of Google’s Nearby Share technology in the newest One UI 6.1 software update. This novel integration allows Galaxy S24 users to transfer files not only with other Samsung devices but also with a broader range of Android gadgets and Windows PCs that support Nearby Share.
Revamped User Experience
In addition to functional enhancement, the Quick Share feature has undergone a visual transformation. Its icon now displays in blue, adorned with dual arrows, signaling a more unified and cross-compatible file-sharing solution. This change signifies the broader connectivity potential that One UI 6.1 introduces to users.
Extending Quick Share Capabilities
Samsung and Google unveiled this collaborative project at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), emphasizing their commitment to enriching the Android ecosystem specifically for Samsung device users. The synergy between the two tech giants is set to streamline file-sharing processes across devices.
Older Samsung models won’t be left out, as they are slated to receive the updated Quick Share app through an update available in the Galaxy Store. The new version, identified as 13.6.10.38, will replace the preexisting Quick Share application on these devices, allowing a wider range of Samsung users to enjoy the improved functionality.
