Samsung has introduced the SSD 990 EVO, aimed at boosting daily computing tasks such as gaming, professional work, and multimedia editing through superior performance and energy efficiency. This latest solid-state drive is engineered to elevate the user experience in everyday computer use.

The SSD 990 EVO is available in storage capacities of 1TB and 2TB. It is currently on the market globally, with the 1TB variant priced at $124.99 and the 2TB model at $209.99 as per the manufacturer’s suggested retail price.
Performance and Efficiency Gains
Boasting a performance improvement of up to 43% over its predecessor, the 970 EVO Plus, the 990 EVO offers sequential read and write speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s and 4,200 MB/s, respectively. It also enhances random read and write IOPS to 700K and 800K respectively.
The new SSD has also made significant leaps in power efficiency, showing up to 70% better energy management compared to the 970 EVO Plus. It integrates Modern Standby support, allowing for fast wake-from-sleep times and maintaining internet connection and notifications even in low-power conditions.
Samsung’s Magician software complements the 990 EVO by providing a set of optimization tools. This software simplifies the data migration process for SSD upgrades and offers security features, ensuring the safety of important data and enabling continuous monitoring of the SSD’s health.
