Previously, collaborations between IoT technology providers often focused on specific regions or limited applications. In contrast, the latest offering by Sequans and Soracom expands the reach to over 170 territories, ensuring broader accessibility and flexibility for IoT deployments. This expansion marks a significant enhancement in the global support infrastructure available to developers, allowing for more seamless international project execution.

New Evaluation Kits Offer Advanced Connectivity Solutions

The newly released evaluation kits integrate Sequans’ leading LTE-M/NB-IoT and Cat 1bis technologies with Soracom’s comprehensive connectivity services. This combination provides developers with reliable and efficient connectivity options necessary for a wide range of IoT applications. By utilizing these advanced connectivity solutions, users can ensure their devices maintain consistent communication across various networks and environments.

Available Variants Cater to Diverse IoT Applications

There are two distinct variants of the evaluation kits available: the LTE-M/NB-IoT Sequans Monarch2 GM02S EVK and the LTE Cat 1bis Sequans Calliope2 GC02S1 EVK. The Monarch2 GM02S EVK is designed for applications requiring low power consumption and a compact design, making it suitable for smart meters, industrial sensors, and fitness trackers. On the other hand, the Calliope2 GC02S1 EVK supports global LTE networks, ideal for connected vehicles, logistics tracking systems, and telematics.

Global Availability Enhances Deployment Flexibility

Each evaluation kit comes with a Soracom global IoT SIM card preloaded with connectivity for up to three months, covering more than 170 territories. This extensive coverage includes LTE-M in 51 regions and NB-IoT in 35 regions, providing developers with the necessary tools to manage and deploy IoT solutions on a worldwide scale. The kits also grant access to Soracom’s suite of connectivity solutions, which includes security features, data transmission services, and remote device management capabilities.

“At Soracom, we are focused on helping developers and enterprises bring their IoT projects to life quickly and efficiently,” said Takashi Serizawa, Head of Europe Region at Soracom. “By expanding our collaboration with Sequans and offering these EVKs with Soracom connectivity, we’re removing friction from the development process and enabling our customers to test, iterate, and scale their IoT solutions with ease.”

“We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with Soracom and provide developers with the tools they need to launch their IoT solutions quickly and efficiently,” said Olivier Pauzet, Sequans EVP of Marketing and Strategy.

The evaluation kits are now accessible through global distribution channels such as Digikey and Mouser, making them readily available to a wide range of developers and enterprises. This strategic availability ensures that users can obtain the necessary tools without significant delays, facilitating quicker project initiation and deployment.

The introduction of these evaluation kits signifies a robust advancement in the IoT development landscape. By combining Sequans’ sophisticated module technology with Soracom’s expansive connectivity, the kits offer a versatile and dependable foundation for various IoT applications. Developers benefit from enhanced global reach, diverse connectivity options, and integrated management solutions, which collectively contribute to more efficient and scalable IoT deployments. This collaboration not only strengthens the offerings of both companies but also provides valuable resources that can drive innovation and growth in the IoT sector.
