Sequans Communications S.A. showcased its latest advancements in cellular IoT technology at the Mobile World Congress 2025, introducing two new semiconductor chips. These additions to the Calliope and Monarch product lines aim to enhance connectivity and efficiency for various IoT applications. Alongside innovation, these products reflect Sequans’ commitment to supporting the evolving needs of the IoT ecosystem.

“As network operators plan their migration from 4G to 5G, it is critical to have 5G eRedCap semiconductors purpose-built for the IoT to achieve the cost and power efficiency needed for IoT applications,” said Dan Shey, VP at ABI Research. “Offering products that enable a seamless transition of IoT applications from 4G to 5G eRedCap is extremely important so IoT application designers can develop future-proof products.”

The introduction of these semiconductor solutions not only addresses current connectivity and efficiency needs but also paves the way for future advancements in IoT technologies. By enabling longer device lifespans and reducing energy consumption, Sequans’ new chips support sustainable growth in various industries reliant on IoT infrastructure.
