Earlier reports highlighted significant performance challenges, including hard crashes and suboptimal frame rates, which affected the overall reception of Spider-Man 2 on PC. The latest patch seeks to rectify these issues, building on previous efforts to optimize the game’s compatibility with various hardware configurations.

The recent update addresses multiple crash fixes informed by player feedback and enhanced crash reporting systems. Additionally, it introduces toggles for film style animation and comic sound effects, allowing players to customize their experience. User interface improvements related to DLSS ray reconstruction and ray tracing have also been implemented, alongside changes to the New Game+ initiation process and the addition of an autosave backup system.

How Has Crash Reporting Improved?

Thanks to updates to Sony’s Crash Reporting System, we can now receive screenshots along with crash reports,” developer Nixxes wrote. “This will give us additional insights into where issues occur frequently in the game. We are committed to improving your experience and continue to work on regular updates with more bug fixes, improvements and performance optimizations.”

The enhanced crash reporting allows developers to better identify and address recurring issues, facilitating more efficient troubleshooting and faster deployment of future patches.

For those encountering problems not resolved by the current patch, Nixxes has provided a list of workarounds available on their community forums. Players can also contact Nixxes support directly for further assistance. These measures ensure that the community has access to resources while additional fixes are being developed.

The ongoing support and regular updates from the developers demonstrate a commitment to resolving the initial shortcomings of Spider-Man 2 on PC. By addressing critical performance and stability issues, the game is poised to improve its standing among the player base, fostering a more positive gaming experience moving forward.
