Tesla is slated to inaugurate a sizable distribution hub within Greenville County, South Carolina. The facility, encompassing over a quarter-million square feet, is situated in Fox Hill Business Park and is expected to commence operations soon.
Strategic Location for Tesla’s Expansion
The Fox Hill Business Park location in Fountain Inn was selected due to its strategic advantages. The new center, developed by The Sudler Companies, will primarily focus on the distribution of automotive parts for the region. Brian Sudler, a principal at the development company, highlighted the business park’s logistical strengths and the region’s appeal as key factors in Tesla’s decision to establish operations there.
Facility and Employment Opportunities
The distribution center, known as Building 3, provides ample space for Tesla’s logistical needs. The park’s advantageous location offers access to a vast market, which is within a day’s drive for over 90 million people. This move by Tesla is indicative of the company’s ongoing expansion, which includes operational centers in Lathrop, California, and projects at the Gigafactory Nevada.
Tesla’s expansion in Greenville has resulted in new job postings on their careers page, including technical and engineering positions. The company’s investment in the region is further evidenced by the recruitment of a Training Leader for the new center, although this position is no longer listed as available.
