Tesla has revealed its latest spring update designed to elevate the driving experience for its US and Canadian customers. The upcoming update introduces features such as adaptive headlights and customizable trunk height settings, aimed at enhancing both functionality and user convenience. Alongside these major additions, the update includes several minor improvements, continuing Tesla’s focus on software advancements.
“The 2025 spring update will roll out soon, bringing highly anticipated features like adaptive headlights,” stated Tesla in a post on X.
The current update builds upon prior announcements by Tesla’s VP of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, who confirmed earlier this year the introduction of advanced headlights in the Model Y and Cybertruck. This new release not only includes adaptive headlights for the refreshed Model Y but also extends these features to the Cybertruck, fulfilling the commitments made previously.
What New Features Are Included in the Update?
The spring update introduces adaptive headlights that dynamically adjust to reduce glare by detecting other road users, enhancing night-time visibility. Additionally, owners can now set custom frunk and trunk heights for specific locations, such as their garage, providing tailored convenience.
How Does This Update Enhance Safety and Convenience?
Safety features are bolstered with the addition of a Blind Spot Camera for the Model S and X, offering live feed on the instrument panel to aid in driver awareness. The Dashcam and Side Camera recordings have also been expanded to include more camera views, now up to six, and the Dashcam Viewer app has been redesigned for easier access and review of recordings.
What Improvements Have Been Made to Navigation and Media?
Navigation is enhanced with alternative trip plans that allow users to choose routes based on speed, amenities, or fewer stops, and nearby amenities are now displayed for charger locations. Media features have seen upgrades with better search filtering, the ability to shuffle large Apple Music playlists, and improved navigation through SiriusXM favorites.
The enhancements introduced in this update reflect Tesla’s ongoing effort to improve vehicle performance and user satisfaction. By integrating state-of-the-art lighting systems and offering customization options, Tesla addresses both safety concerns and personalized user preferences, thereby strengthening its vehicle offerings in the competitive electric market.
