The CivTech Accelerator, funded by the Scottish Government, has propelled 13 companies into its final phase, with Adora Digital Health, Lumino, and Cohesion leading the pack in the health sector. These finalists are focused on creating technological tools to aid women in understanding and managing menopause effectively.
Innovative Solutions for Menopausal Support
Emerging victorious in response to a challenge set by the Scottish Government’s Chief Scientists Office, the trio aims to harness technology to allow women to grasp the intricacies of menopause and secure tailored support. Targeting different aspects of menopausal care, each company offers a unique solution.
Adora Digital Health is developing access to health professionals and a symptom tracker, Lumino is crafting a cognitive behavioural therapy digital tool, and Cohesion focuses on providing support via community pharmacies.
Accelerating Development and Impact
Over the coming months, the selected companies will collaborate with their challenge sponsors to refine their offerings and establish a minimum viable product, marking a critical step in their development journey.
The CivTech Accelerator, in operation since 2016, is unique in being the first government-run initiative of its kind, distinct from other programs such as DigitalHealth.London’s Leap. CivTech’s ninth round has witnessed a substantial investment and offers the prospects of lucrative contracts for the winners.
During the launch of the accelerator phase, innovation minister Richard Lochhead highlighted the program’s role in harnessing cutting-edge technology to address societal challenges and foster a more robust economy, reflecting the technology sector’s commitment to improving lives through innovative solutions.
