Samsung has signaled a significant shift in its manufacturing strategy, opting to manufacture at its Noida, Uttar Pradesh facility in India. This strategic move allows Samsung to not only serve the Indian market with locally produced devices but also to tap into the global export market, mirroring the manufacturing approach of Apple with its India-built iPhone 15 models.

The announcement was made during the Galaxy Unpacked event in the United States, emphasizing Samsung’s commitment to leveraging India’s manufacturing capabilities for both domestic consumption and international distribution. Google is also joining the trend, with plans to start manufacturing its Pixel 8 series in India.

During the event, J B Park, President and CEO of Samsung India, underscored the significance of India in Samsung’s global strategy, particularly highlighting the potential of AI technology with the new Galaxy S24 series. This initiative aligns with Samsung’s broader aim to enhance its product offerings with advanced technologies and to solidify its market presence in India.

Remarkably, the launch of the Galaxy S24 series has been met with unprecedented enthusiasm, as evidenced by the record-breaking 250,000 pre-bookings within just three days of opening in India, surpassing the previous year’s figures for the Galaxy S23 series and setting a new benchmark for the most successful S series launch in the country.

The Galaxy S24 series showcases a host of technological advancements and features tailored to elevate user experiences. The Ultra model is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC globally, while the S24 and S24+ models utilize this chipset selectively based on the region. These smartphones are integrated with innovative AI features such as Live Translate and Circle to Search, enhancing communication and search functionalities. The series also introduces the ProVisual Engine, aimed at transforming photography through AI-powered tools and a new optical zoom lens on the Galaxy S24 Ultra for superior image quality.

Samsung has focused on enhancing the durability and performance of these devices, with the Ultra model featuring an expanded vapor chamber and the first-ever titanium frame in the Galaxy series for increased longevity. The entire series benefits from Samsung’s commitment to security and longevity, offering extensive OS upgrades and security updates. With prices starting at INR 79,999 for the base Galaxy S24 model and scaling up to INR 1,59,999 for the highest configuration of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung is poised to cater to a wide range of consumers looking for premium smartphones that blend advanced technology with robust design and manufacturing excellence.
