Apple has been working on the iOS 17.3 update since mid-December and is poised to release it to users shortly. The new version promises various enhancements and features for iPhone users.
New Security and Music Features
iOS 17.3 will introduce a Stolen Device Protection function, bolstering security by necessitating Face ID verification for several actions, including viewing sensitive information and disabling Lost Mode. Additionally, the update will allow the creation of Collaborative Playlists on Apple Music, where friends can jointly manage song lists. Users will also be able to express their reactions to song additions using emojis.
In the Journal app, Apple is expanding customization options to include media and music suggestions, control over cellular data, and other preferences. The update will also feature a new Unity Bloom wallpaper that displays a dynamic floral design on the Lock Screen, reflecting Apple’s support for the Black community.
Additional Enhancements
Other updates in iOS 17.3 include AirPlay support for streaming content to hotel TVs, a centralized location in Settings for AppleCare & Warranty information, and refined crash detection capabilities for the iPhone 14 and 15 series.
The update will be compatible with a range of iPhone models from the XR, XS, and XS Max up to the latest iPhone 15 series. As more features are tested, BGR plans to provide continual updates on the iOS 17.3 release.
