Embark Studios has released an update for its free-to-play competitive shooter, THE FINALS, featuring the new Solo Bank It mode, where a dozen players vie in a battle royale to amass and secure $40,000. This marks the first limited-time game mode introduced in the title.
Anti-Cheat Improvements and More In-Game Content
The 1.5.0 update also strengthens the game’s anti-cheat measures, allowing for more confident identification and restriction of unfair play. Additionally, the in-game store has expanded, providing players with a broader array of items to choose from.
Comprehensive Balance Adjustments
Significant balance modifications have been implemented to enhance gameplay fairness. For instance, the Charge N’ Slam ability has been updated to prevent use while a player is stationary or stealing an extraction. The Cloaking Device now requires more time to activate, and numerous weapons and gadgets have undergone adjustments to their damage output and cooldown periods.
Further tweaks include modifications to the Grapple Hook, Mesh Shield, and Recon Sense, each receiving changes to their functionality or health points. Additionally, the update introduces nerfs to a range of gadgets like the C4, RPG, and Gas Mine, aiming to create a more balanced competitive environment.
THE FINALS has demonstrated its popularity by surpassing ten million players within its first two weeks, available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. This update is part of ongoing efforts to refine the player experience and maintain the game’s integrity.
